I was a lacto-ovo vegetarian for 21 years (from the womb ‘til a couple years ago). I started eating fish about 2 years ago and then just this past month, started eating chicken. I still refuse to eat pigs or cows. It’s just a personal choice… not saying everyone else should follow suit!
So I know what it’s like to hunt for the meat-free items on a menu or in the grocery store. It can be tough, but if that’s genuinely what you believe in, it’s worth it! I didn’t do it to lose weight, it was simply how I was raised (my mom has been a vegetarian since she was a child, after seeing her grandfather slaughter animals on his farm one day). So I was literally a vegetarian in the womb. =) It has become increasingly easier to find amazing tasting vegetarian options... so if that is something you’re leaning toward, don’t stress about feeling deprived. =)
Channa Serenity is a Raw Vegan athlete! (Girl in the photo). For those of you who do or want to follow that kind of lifestyle, she would be a good person to “follow”.
My Circuit Leg Workout
- Dumbbell Bench Step-ups - 15 each leg
- Dumbbell Walking Lunges - Up & Back
- Dumbbell Sumo Squats - 15
- Dumbbell Stiff-Leg Deadlifts - 15
- Jump Squats 15
- Leg Extensions 12
- Leg Curls 10
- Rest 1-2 minutes
Repeat this circuit 3-4 times. Always use proper form and breathing so you don’t injure yourself. The only “rest” I took was at the end of each circuit, and the time it took to change weights with the dumbbells. (I used all dumbbells because it was easier than running around grabbing barbells and a bunch of other equipment). The minimal rest makes it great for burning fat. Enjoy!
